E disegna gli spazi infiniti del pensiero umano, che si espande e si muove senza limitazioni, ponendosi come “Weltbindend” come Formatore del Mondo: in ciò è magnificamente raffigurata la funzione “Cosmogonica” del pensiero. EG) – Giuseppe Grieco‘s work is presented under the sign of abstract art. Or, more precisely, of a highly original abstractionism, critically rethought. And it draws the infinite spaces of human thought, which expands and moves without limitations, placing itself as “Weltbindend” as Formator of the World: in this the “Cosmogonic” function of thought is beautifully represented. The world exists in thought or, more precisely, in the “Act in Act” of thinking. The chromatic tones are enveloping. And they effectively contribute to expressing the incontrovertible Power of Thinking caught in its inexhaustible act.

La pittura di Giuseppe Grieco stupisce positivamente l’osservatore per la Potenza Cromatica e per l’inconfondibile Sapienza del tratto pittorico. Un’arte astratta, si sarebbe a tutta prima tentati di rilevare: ma è un’arte astratta che – si badi – coglie il concreto, ossia letteralmente il con-crescere delle parti che compongono il reale. E lo fa con maestria e con talento, soprattutto con un riuscitissimo intreccio equilibrato di colori e tratti; intreccio che concorre a rendere unica, nel suo genere, l’opera del pittore. Prendiamo, ad esempio, l’opera significativamente intitolata “Un Sogno di Colori”: con i suoi colori abbaglianti e con i suoi tratti quasi geometrici, Giuseppe Grieco ci restituisce magnificamente l’esperienza indeducibile del sogno, esperienza nella quale il soggetto è proiettato in una dimensione sui generis, altra rispetto a quella dell’ordinario. Esaminiamo, ancora, l’opera recante il titolo “Kaos Orgasmico”: con un magnifico intreccio di colori e tratti, essa ci restituisce splendidamente il senso stesso della vita, ordinato caos che sfugge a ogni geometria e a ogni ordine e, di più, fiorisce – direbbe il poeta – Ohne Warum, “senza un perché”. È la vita che vive e si sviluppa come fine a se stessa. Si analizzi, ancora, l’opera – tra le più belle e più riuscite – intitolata “Natale r na Vot”: qui la perfezione dell’intreccio tra colori e tratti raggiunge verosimilmente il proprio non plus ultra, trasmettendoci un caleidoscopio di emozioni e sentimenti che si moltiplicano senza tregua seguendo la splendida esplosione prismatica di luci e sfumature espressa sulla tela dall’autore. Un’arte davvero profonda ed emozionante, che ci induce con energia a vedere altrimenti la realtà e, dunque, uscire dall’inerzia dell’ordinario in cui troppo spesso siamo sospesi, magari inconsapevolmente.

EG) – Giuseppe Grieco’s painting positively amazes the observer for the chromatic power and the unmistakable skill of the pictorial stroke. An abstract art, one would at first be tempted to point out: but it is an abstract art that – mind you – captures the concrete, that is, literally the co-growth of the parts that make up the real. And he does it with skill and talent, above all with a very successful balanced interweaving of colors and features; intertwining that contributes to making the painter’s work unique in its genre. Take, for example, the work significantly entitled “A Dream of Colors”: with its dazzling colors and its almost geometric features, Giuseppe Grieco beautifully gives us the indeducible experience of the dream, an experience in which the subject is projected into a sui generis dimension, other than that of the ordinary. Let’s examine, again, the work bearing the title “Orgasmic Kaos”: with a magnificent interweaving of colors and traits, it beautifully gives us the very meaning of life, ordered chaos that escapes any geometry and any order and, moreover, flourishes – the poet would say – Ohne Warum, “without a reason”. It is life that lives and develops as an end in itself. Let’s analyze, once again, the work – among the most beautiful and most successful – entitled “Natale r na Vot”: here the perfection of the intertwining of colors and traits probably reaches its own non plus ultra, transmitting a kaleidoscope of emotions and feelings that multiply without respite following the splendid prismatic explosion of lights and shades expressed on the canvas by the author. A truly profound and exciting art, which energetically induces us to see reality otherwise and, therefore, come out of the inertia of the ordinary in which we are too often suspended, perhaps unconsciously.

Nell’immaginario visivo di Grieco, infatti, l’espressione artistica sembra propendere per un territorio configurabile nel vortice di un’esperienza integrativa e che pure assume la nettezza delle sequenze cromatiche, quanto delle forme intuite, in un addensarsi continuo e libero da qualsiasi incauta sovrapposizione. Nel neo-morfico – epperò altresì meta-glossico – territorio, la simbiosi di ricercatezza e di azione va dilatandosi in un movimento inatteso, pur nell’accenno di una simmetria del tutto interna, attraverso la quale l’artista evoca i movimenti intenzionali in una creatività in incessante divergenza. In the action tending to break down the potential of the form, the trajectories articulated by the artist Giuseppe Grieco seem to flow in an irresistible variation.
Indeed, in Grieco’s visual imagination, artistic expression seems to lean towards a territory that can be configured in the vortex of an integrative experience and which also assumes the clarity of chromatic sequences, as well as of intuited forms, in a continuous gathering free from any incautious overlap. In the neo-morphic – and yet also meta-glossic – territory, the symbiosis of refinement and action expands into an unexpected movement, albeit in the hint of a wholly internal symmetry, through which the artist evokes intentional movements in a creativity in ceaseless divergence. While leading back to an art form based on a deliberately dissonant elaboration with respect to any linear score, Giuseppe Grieco’s operation achieves the apex of a perceptive orientation within a space that is sometimes enigmatic and which refers to a sort of imperturbable self-declining ceaselessly shifting, turning to a proven montage action to handle the vastness of an accelerated synchronization.

Dopo iniziali approcci già da ragazzo, ha fatto poi uso di ogni genere di materiale, fino a focalizzarsi in tre profili decisamente distinti. Uno si basa sulla conoscenza della tecnica dell’acquarello, anche con tecniche miste, per produrre vedute e paesaggi di facile apprezzamento da un vasto pubblico, per le qualità espressive e segniche di eccellente livello esecutivo.
Si è poi fatto portatore di una visione più complessa, che si pone fra il recupero di iconografie sacre ed anche profane, per poi coniugarle incorporandole, in modo molto originale e personale, nel complesso dell’opera. Questa viene resa con pittura espressiva, atta a produrre uno spiazzamento surreale-visivo di grande effetto immaginifico e stilisticamente convincente. Poi il linguaggio si fa decisamente informale dipanandosi fra geometrico, segnico se non anche materico, in un interfacciarsi efficace di modalità. Tutto è concesso a EditorDreams che fa uso della metafora dei sogni per produrre spiazzamento visivo e la sua realtà artistica.

Le alchimie di EditorDreams trovo siano speculari alla sua fame di conoscenza, in una crescita vorticosa di esperienze tecniche ma, soprattutto, umane, sociologiche e filosofiche fra loro intrecciate inscindibilmente. L’artista è anche poeta, scrittore, musicista, editore, oltre che giurista ed economista e tanto altro. Nella sua poliedricità insegue, al pari dei grandi del rinascimento, il tema esistenziale, mettendo al centro l’uomo, la sua vita, anche in senso sociale, esplorandolo in mille modi e l’arte: uno di questi. Alcune opere in particolare mi ricordano artisti del calibro di Mario Schifano, perché è il pensiero che, più di tutto, può trovare spazio nell’opera contemporanea, che non voglia avere valenza di mera esplicitazione artigianale.
Giuseppe Grieco ha, dunque, personalità ed è artista molto interessante, popolare ed intellettuale allo stesso tempo. Sono certo nell’osservarne le opere che potrà, ben presto, trovare giusta collocazione nel mondo del contemporaneo, se saprà perseguire sul piano intuitivo, come le opere più recenti attestano, l’idea che è insita nell’arte: la libertà espressiva abbracciando l’armonia dell’essere. Una libertà che non dovrà affrancarsi dalla necessità di fare esperienza, nel costruire con dedizione un progetto solido, da coltivare e poter promuovere in un fare quotidiano prodigo ed intuitivo. EG) – After initial approaches as a boy, he then made use of all kinds of material, until he focused on three decidedly distinct profiles. One is based on the knowledge of the watercolor technique, even with mixed techniques, to produce views and landscapes that are easily appreciated by a wide audience, for the expressive and sign qualities of an excellent executive level.
He is then made bearer of a more complex vision, which arises between the recovery of sacred and also profane iconography, and then combine them by incorporating, in a very original and personal way, in the opera complex. This is rendered with expressive painting, capable of producing a surreal-visual displacement of great imaginative and stylistically convincing effect. Then the language becomes decidedly informal, unraveling between geometric, sign if not also material, in an effective interface of modalities. Everything is granted to EditorDreams which uses the metaphor of dreams to produce visual displacement and its artistic reality.

I find the alchemies of EditorDreams mirror his hunger for knowledge, in a whirlwind growth of technical but, above all, human, sociological and philosophical experiences that are inseparably intertwined. The artist is also a poet, writer, musician, editor, as well as a jurist and economist and much more. In his versatility, he pursues the existential theme, like the greats of the Renaissance, placing man and his life at the center, even in a social sense, exploring it in a thousand ways and art: one of these. Some works in particular remind me of artists of the caliber of Mario Schifano, because it is the thought that, more than anything, can find space in contemporary work, which does not want to have the value of mere craftsmanship.
Giuseppe Grieco therefore has personality and is a very interesting, popular and intellectual artist at the same time. I am sure in observing his works that he will soon find the right place in the contemporary world, if he is able to pursue on an intuitive level, as the most recent works attest, the idea that is inherent in art: expressive freedom embracing the harmony of being. A freedom that will not have to free itself from the need to gain experience, in building with dedication a solid project, to be cultivated and able to promote in a prodigal and intuitive daily activity. EDITORDREAMS CRITICA POETICA DI ANTONELLO VOZZA

Con la mente tratteggio nel vuoto immagini impazienti di essere create, complesse emozioni prosaiche e con le dita arpeggio su una tela che non collabora archiviando l’Infinito in poco spazio mentre si susseguono concetti identici ed ogni volta differenti. E cosa c’è oltre lo spazio del non verbale, poco prima di un’ empatica e diretta trasmissione di un pensiero concretamente astratto che non riesco a dire, o pensare chè non bastano archetipi e parole e nella semplicità del mio essere resto, immobile come macchina senza spinta ché non sono ferro e non sono roccia e nel mutismo della comunicazione non sono abbastanza umano.

With my mind I draw images impatient to be created in the void, complex prosaic emotions and with my fingers I arpeggio on a canvas that does not collaborate, storing the Infinite in a small space while identical and different concepts follow one another. And what is beyond the space of the non-verbal, just before an empathic and direct transmission of a concretely abstract thought that I cannot say, or think that archetypes and words are not enough and in the simplicity of my remaining being, immobile as machine without thrust because I am not iron and I am not rock and in the silence of communication I am not human enough.
